WHAT TO BRING OR NOT TO BRING TO THE DAY CARE

  • Parents must supply special need items, such as baby food, formula, diaper wipes, diapers, etc. Children using bottles should arrive at the day care with enough bottles prepared for the day and must be labelled with child's name.
  • Blankets (and a small pillow for the older children) are acceptable for rest time if required. One small "sleep time" toy is also welcome.  All items must be small enough to fit into your child's cubby at the end of rest time.
  • Please provide a full and complete set of clothing (from the top to bottom), clearly labelled with your child's name, to be kept in their lockers in case they need them.  When soiled, they will be returned to you in a bag, which the parent must take home and wash and replace with another set of clean clothes.
  • Since the staff will spend time outdoors with your child when the weather is warm (winter or summer), clothing must be appropriate for the weather.
  • Toys, other than the "sleep time toy", are allowed on Show and Tell Days.
  • If your child is on a special diet, their special food must be brought to the Centre.
  • The Centre will provide a birthday cake for all birthdays, unless the parent purchases cupcakes and cakes from a store bakery. No food from home is allowed in the classrooms. Also, no peanuts are allowed at daycare.  We are a NUT-FREE ZONE.
  • Please do not let your child wear perfume/after shave to the Centre.  There are some children and staff that are allergic to these substances.
  • The Centre will purchase sunscreen and insect repellant, with the small fee charged to parents for these items to be used on their children.  Everyone will use the same brand.  If your child requires a special brand, please purchase it and label with their name and we will put theirs on them when we go outside.
  • Your child's clothing should be free of complicated fastenings, be able to be worn when doing messy activities (sand boxes, crafts, etc.), made of sturdy material and no drawstrings, be the proper clothing for the current weather conditions,  and inside shoes must NOT be flip-flops or backless sandals for safety reasons.
  • NOTE: The Centre's Staff will not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to your child's property.  Please ensure that any items brought to the Centre are clearly marked with your child's name.
